Current Updates on COVID-19 in Malaysia [7 October 2020]

 

The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to inform that 74 cases have fully recovered and discharged today. Cumulatively, 10,501 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been discharged (75.0% of total cumulative cases). 

 

A total of 489 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today. Cumulatively there are now 13,993 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 3,351 active and infective COVID-19 cases. They have all been isolated and given treatment. 

 

Of the 489 cases reported today, two (2) are imported cases who were infected overseas. 

 

Of the 487 local transmission cases, 467 cases are Malaysians and 20 cases non-Malaysians. 

 

Currently, 40 confirmed COVID-19 cases are receiving treatment in the intensive care units (ICUs), with 13 patients on ventilation support. 

 

No additional COVID-19 deaths were reported to the National CPRC MOH today. Cumulatively, there remains 141 COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia (1.01% of total cumulative cases).
