Zumba Lovers & Health Enthusiasts Celebrated Fitness With Zumba At Sunway Lagoon
Participants of all ages thronged the Surf Beach at Sunway Lagoon at the Watsons #GETACTIVE FEST 2019. Back by popular demand, and in its 6th consecutive year, #GETACTIVE FEST 2019 is Watsons largest fitness festival. The festival highlights the iconic Zumba fitness moves and introducing new high intensity workout - Strong By Zumba. The Zumba party started at 4pm, where after participants registered themselves at the Surf Beach, they were treated to entertaining games and activities conducted by our emcee and Watsons ambassador Jinnyboy, participated in wellness workshops, feasted themselves with delicious food at food trucks and discovered interesting health and wellness products in the health and fitness bazaar and fitness arcade.
This year’s Watsons #GETACTIVE FEST 2019 was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sport and attended by Yang Berhormat, Encik Steven Sim Chee Keong, Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports Malaysia and Yang Berhormat Encik Sabran Bin Abd Bahar, Director of Selangor State Department of Youth & Sports Malaysia.
The fitness festival was open to all, including kids, adults, families, teenagers and senior citizens. This year introduces Strong by Zumba which is a revolutionary high-intensity workout using the tempo of the music to get your body into high gear. Think burpees, push-ups, and other high-impact moves – that’s synced to specific music. After all, Zumba is all about the music.
Leveraging on “Be Strong”, Watsons encourages everyone to give importance to physical activity, along with proper nutrition, that benefits people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities. And it is important that everyone gets active! There are just so many immediate and long-term benefits in moving your body and engaging in any form of exercise such as preventing chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer and stroke, reduces fat, relieves stress, increase your energy and self-esteem. The participants of #GETACTIVE FEST 2019 started off with Zumba fitness moves with Zumba jammers Alex Phang and Deno Au, before they tested their physical limits with Natalie Constanti, International Presenter for Strong by Zumba. A former Tae kwon-do champion, ex-professional dancer and physique fitness competitor, Natalie’s interest in fitness has allowed her to explore many styles & disciplines, from dance, martial arts, bodyweight & movement training to bodybuilding where she placed top 4 at the European WBFF Diva Fitness Model competition. All forms of movement are her passion. At #GETACTIVE FEST 2019, Natalie was supported alongside with Sunny Cheong, Strong by Zumba’s Malaysia representative. There were health workshops organized by Watsons Brand – Nutrabliss, Flavettes, Kkirabe and Derma Health Skin Labs. Participants can challenge themselves at the rock climbing structure, savour sumptuous foods at the food trucks area and even check out what’s in and hot at the bazaar section.
The spectacular event has not only highlighted the Zumba Fitness & Strong By Zumba, participants got the chance to experience the wholesome fun and goodness from the activities offered during the event.
