Beat the heat with two amazing new dessert flavours with a tangy twist

In conjunction with Malaysia’s 65th National Day, airasia’s Santan is bringing back its famed Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak Ice Cream and adding a new variety to the list: an all-time-Malaysian-favourite ‒ Gula Melaka Boba flavour.

Santan ‒ home to the ‘best nasi lemak in town’, is taking desserts to a whole new level. The homegrown Malaysian brand has whipped up not one but two delicious new sweet additions to its menu; both created with the patriotic spirit in mind in conjunction with Merdeka this August 31st. airasia’s Santan’s Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak Ice Cream comes with a scoop of creamy coconut-based ‘santan’ ice cream, topped with a generous heaping of Pak Nasser’s signature sambal and paired with crunchy anchovies and fried peanuts.

airasia’s Santan first introduced Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak Ice Cream to the world in 2020, which garnered the attention of nasi-lemak-loving patrons who eagerly yearned for a taste of this sweet and savoury combo. The eatery has since revamped the recipe and for a more enhanced taste and look.

Catherine Goh, General Manager of airasia’s Santan said: “The beloved nasi lemak is a staple in many Malaysian households and is one of the many beautiful factors that make up the culture of our country. There is no better way to commemorate this national treasure than to serve it as a delicious twist to classic desserts. With every bite, you’d get the perfect blend of the richness of our in-house churned santan ice cream, mixed with the savouriness of our special sambal. Our new Gula Melaka Boba flavour is made with the same velvety ice cream and topped with a drizzle of our warm, premium gula melaka sauce and homemade boba. Truly, the perfect way to end a meal.

“airasia’s Santan’s Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak is one of the most sold nasi lemaks in Malaysia, with an average of 5,000 packets being sold a day, both on ground and in the air. In our mission to continuously innovate our offerings to provide affordable, yet tasty food to the masses, we’ve brought back Pak Nasser’s Nasi Lemak Ice Cream after popular demand and introduced a new flavour we’re sure will be a hit.”
