IPC Shopping Centre Offers Shoppers a ‘Swede’ Escape to their Swedish Midsummer Without Needing to Fly

The shopping centre continues to bring families together this Midsummer and offers a Swedish cross-cultural experience like no other

IPC Shopping Centre is excited to announce its fourth consecutive year of celebrating its Swedish roots in collaboration with IKEA. This exciting partnership aims to bring the ‘Swede’ Escape to shoppers celebrating the occasion, offering an exceptional Swedish experience. From now until 30th July 2023, the shopping centre will be hosting the famous and magical Midsummer festival with an array of fun activities for shoppers. This year, IPC has taken the festivities up a notch and wants to transport shoppers to the idyllic Swedish countryside through various experiential zones to allow them to experience the culture and fun while redeeming exclusive merchandise through accumulated purchases.

IPC Shopping Centre will feature an experiential Midsummer area on the first floor (Level 1) where shoppers will be transported into a Swedish Midsummer festival that is adorned with themed and floral decorations. The highlight of the festival, the 9-foot ‘maja’ maypole will also be on display with flower decorations where shoppers can twirl around for good luck. Shoppers will also be treated with a plethora of shopping offerings from the weekend bazaars as different brands will be brought in every week at the Midsummer area. On weekends, both parents and children can participate in free arts and craft workshops while also enjoying entertaining musical performances and fun interaction with Små Club Buddy mascot accompanied by a Swedish Maiden who will be making their rounds.

Vickie Loke, Marketing Manager of IPC Shopping Centre said “The Swedish Midsummer festival is back and at IPC, we want to continue sharing our strong Swedish roots with our shoppers and community. This is our fourth year hosting the Midsummer festival and we want to continue this Swedish cross-cultural celebration for many years to come as our shoppers have come to love and anticipate this iconic cultural celebration. This is part of our efforts to continue making IPC the best meeting place for our shoppers and community.”

"This celebration provides us with an opportunity to pay homage to our Swedish heritage and strengthen our enduring partnership with IKEA. We take immense pride in delivering a unique experience to our shoppers by seamlessly integrating the finest elements of our centre’s diverse offerings with IKEA’s Swedish culture, cuisine, design, and innovation. As we continue to grow alongside IKEA, we early look forward to hosting more Midsummer festivals in the future,” she added.

From 30 June to 9 July, there will also be a Midsummer Market located on the ground floor (Level G) where shoppers can indulge their palate with summer-themed Swedish delicacies and great deals. The Midsummer Market, in collaboration with IKEA, I-Eco and Aeon Wellness will offer shoppers delicious Swedish meals along with must-have summertime offerings such as sunscreen, skincare and other fun items that shoppers will need for endless fun under the sun.
