Amazfit has introduced the T-Rex Dual Solar, a premium outdoor smartwatch designed for adventurers who spend extended periods away from conventional charging sources. Combining a bright AMOLED display with an innovative dual-sided solar charging system, the new smartwatch aims to deliver both everyday usability and the endurance needed for long-distance exploration.

Dual Solar Charging for Longer Adventures
The biggest highlight of the Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar is its ability to collect solar energy from two different surfaces, each designed for different situations.
The front solar charging system collects energy while the smartwatch is being worn outdoors in sufficient sunlight. Under Amazfit's typical-use testing conditions, three hours of daily exposure to sunlight at 50,000 lux can extend battery life from up to 25 days to up to 34 days.
Meanwhile, the rear solar charging system is integrated into the smartwatch's glass-ceramic back plate. Its solar collection area is twice the size of the front panel, allowing users to position the watch with its back facing the sun to collect additional solar energy when it is not being worn.
A dedicated Solar Priority Mode further supports this functionality by placing the smartwatch into an ultra-low-power state to maximise solar energy recovery when it is off the wrist.
According to Amazfit, the system is also designed to help revive a completely depleted smartwatch using sunlight, potentially restoring access to essential features such as maps and route information when conventional charging is unavailable.

For outdoor enthusiasts who rely heavily on satellite positioning, the smartwatch supports up to 41 hours of operation in Accuracy GPS Mode.
It also introduces an Outdoor Extreme battery mode, which reduces power consumption while keeping essential outdoor functions active, including GPS track points. This is particularly useful during longer expeditions where conserving battery power becomes a priority.

He added that solar charging can be especially useful at high altitudes, where sunlight is abundant and reliable access to navigation information can make a significant difference.
