Bringing the World’s First 2K 165Hz Samsung Everest Display to Malaysia for an Unmatched Viewing Experience
iQOO has globally launched its latest flagship smartphone, the iQOO 16, introducing upgrades across performance, display, gaming, system experience and overall specifications. Among its key highlights are the Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 6 Mobile Platform and what iQOO describes as the world's first 2K 165Hz Samsung Everest Display, jointly developed with Samsung Display.
The smartphone is built around iQOO's "3+2 Gaming Technology Framework", bringing improvements to visuals, controls, live streaming and cross-device gaming.

The World's First 2K 165Hz Samsung Display
The display was developed through a collaboration between iQOO and Samsung Display that began from the early definition stage. According to iQOO, both companies worked together on technical challenges throughout the project and into mass production, covering areas such as emissive materials, the panel, display driver IC and manufacturing processes.
The iQOO 16 is the first Android device to use Samsung's M16 emissive material and 2K LEAD™ 2.0 technology. Its 2K resolution is paired with a 165Hz refresh rate, while global peak brightness reaches 2,800 nits. iQOO also states that power consumption is 31% lower than a 1.5K screen of the same size.

Beyond the display hardware itself, the iQOO 16 supports 165Hz in more than 100 apps and over 50 popular games. Its proprietary Q-flex control technology is designed to reduce touch latency, while a first-frame brightness ratio of up to 100% and in-house frame synchronisation help minimise motion blur during fast-moving scenes.
Each screen is individually calibrated on iQOO's dedicated production line. Pixel-level compensation is applied across its 9.12 million subpixels to improve brightness and colour uniformity, while iQOO's 1 nit colour restoration is designed to preserve colour and tonal depth in darker scenes across different brightness levels.
Bringing PC Gaming Technology to Mobile
At the centre of the iQOO 16's gaming approach is its "3+2 Gaming Technology Framework". It combines three technical foundations, graphics, controls and tuning, with two application scenarios covering cross-device gaming and game live streaming.
iQOO has also announced a mobile gaming partnership with Unreal Engine. The collaboration will see advanced Unreal Engine graphics technology integrated into iQOO's software and hardware planning, including Unreal Engine 5 features such as Lumen and Nanite, with the aim of delivering console-grade lighting and high frame rates on mobile.
For graphics, the iQOO 16 uses the company's in-house Q4 esports chip, based on a triple-core architecture. iQOO claims the chip delivers 15% higher performance, 19% faster cache speed and 19% more AI computing power.
The company also describes the iQOO 16 as the only device in the industry to support full-scene ray tracing, game super resolution and frame interpolation together. It introduces virtual point light technology found on consoles to mobile, allowing off-screen light sources to contribute to lighting calculations, with HDR effects supported on top. An 8K Game Camera can also capture ultra-high-resolution screenshots while retaining ray tracing, filters and super resolution effects.

Controls are another major part of the gaming package. Q-flex brings PC control optimisation to mobile by integrating directly into the game rendering pipeline. By synchronising frame production with system consumption, the technology is designed to lower touch latency while improving response consistency and precision.
The iQOO 16 will also be the first to support native 165 frames per second at maximum image quality in Honor of Kings. A dedicated touch control chip and new-generation gyroscope are included to improve taps, swipes, turns and aim tracking.
Powering the device is the 2nm Snapdragon® 8 Elite Gen 6, paired with LPDDR5X Ultra Pro memory and UFS 4.1 storage. An 8.5K Ice Dome VC liquid cooling system is used to maintain stable performance under heavy loads.
The new Monster Core Engine adds what iQOO describes as an industry-first in-house scheduler that optimises resource allocation at the kernel level, with the goal of maintaining steadier frame rates and lowering power consumption during demanding scenarios.
The iQOO 16 supports 165Hz gameplay in more than 100 games. It also includes built-in super resolution and frame interpolation switches for 11 popular mobile games, while 13 titles support 2K native-quality super resolution. For six popular mobile games, simultaneous super resolution and frame interpolation enable a combination of 2K resolution and 165FPS.
Gaming Beyond the Smartphone
The gaming experience also extends beyond native smartphone titles. iQOO's in-house PC game emulator supports nearly 100 PC titles, while Game Space Large Screen Mode creates a dedicated large-screen environment when the smartphone is cast to a display and covers more than 20 popular mobile games.
For game streaming, the iQOO 16 supports the complete live broadcast workflow with native high-frame-rate output and original-quality encoding. It also includes a dedicated Honor of Kings streaming template and intelligent editing tools.
A Design Inspired by Exploration and Excellence
The iQOO 16's design follows an "Exploration and Excellence" theme. The device is offered in Chasing Light, Legend and Track finishes, with the Chasing Light version using AG glass and what iQOO describes as an industry-exclusive laser holographic imaging process.
Created through three precision steps, the rear pattern is designed to remain clear and three-dimensional from different viewing angles. As the device turns, red holographic light and blue flowing light move across its surface.
Its Tomorrow Porthole camera module places three lenses beneath transparent glass in a mechanical-arm arrangement that forms a navigation mark.

A Fully Equipped Flagship Beyond Pro Max
The camera system is led by a 1/1.3-inch 50MP large sensor, which iQOO says captures 79% more light. It is supported by CIPA 5.5 professional stabilisation, the NICE 3.0 optical reconstruction engine and vivo's in-house Ultra-Light HDR technology.
Alongside the main camera is a 50MP Sony super periscope telephoto camera and a 50MP low-distortion ultrawide camera. The imaging system carries vivo's signature colour and tonal style, while adding Bright Portrait Rim Light and Bright Tone Diffused Light effects. It also supports 4K Live.
The iQOO 16 runs OriginOS 7 and packs an 8,400mAh Blue Ocean battery with 100W wired FlashCharge and 40W wireless charging.
Other specifications include Esports Network System 3.0, N79 band support, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, a Warhammer MAX dual-axis motor and Drum Master Pro symmetrical dual speakers. The device also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Availability
The iQOO 16 is available in three colours: Chasing Light, Legend and Racing Track. Four configurations are offered, comprising 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB and 16GB+1TB.
The iQOO 16 is expected to debut in Malaysia in November 2026.
