Samsung Malaysia Partners with the Famed Segaris Art Center to Showcase Local Artwork on Its Art Store

Admire unique artwork from Malaysia’s talents from the comfort of your home.

Samsung Malaysia Electronics is proud to announce its collaboration with Segaris Art Center in conjunction with their 10th year anniversary. To celebrate their dedication in supporting Malaysian artists, ten handpicked art pieces from Segaris will be made available to Samsung’s The Frame Art Store patrons in Malaysia from 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022.

The Art Store is an art platform exclusive to Samsung Lifestyle TV ‘The Frame’. With over 1,600 art pieces to choose from, the Art Store brings the world’s galleries to your home – from contemporary art to photography works – to redefine how you appreciate, collect, and enjoy works of art. It pairs beautifully with Samsung’s The Frame, an elegant and modern lifestyle TV that is designed to look like a picture frame that seamlessly blends into your decor.

The Frame offers users a new way of seeing exceptional art in everyday life, transforming the idea that art needs to be seen in person. When not in use, the 4K QLED Smart TV transforms into an art display, allowing users to admire their favourite art pieces right from their living room. The innovative technology also allows true and absolute colours to shine through, making any digital display as real-life as possible.

Though this partnership with Segaris Art Center, Samsung Malaysia brings to the audience the variety and depth of Malaysia’s creative talents through the carefully selected artworks from Segaris’ repertoire of art professionals and academics. As technological breakthroughs in the art world continues to change how arts are enjoyed today, this collaboration also demonstrates the new opportunities that modern technology and artists can bring to the future world of art.

According to Mohd Nizam Rahmat, CEO of Segaris Art Center, “Today we are witnessing the epitome of an amalgamation between technology and art. Its multi-functionality in our society transcends beyond entertainment and opens up to a new world of ideas. We chose Samsung’s The Frame to make our art pieces more accessible to everyone, and because of its QLED Technology, the colour of the art pieces are brought out to full volume with Quantum Dot to present them in the best light.”

Calvert Yap, Head of TV & Audio Visual of Samsung Malaysia Electronics said, “One of Samsung Malaysia’s goals have always been to inspire more innovation among society, and if we can do so even in the field of arts, then I believe we are going in the right direction. This collaboration with Segaris Art Center is our way of encouraging young talents to unbind themselves from what exists in order to explore all the possibilities imaginable. Every creation starts from an idea – a dream – so we hope that these works can trigger that passion within every person.”

Admire the works of Awang Damit Ahmad, Faizal Suhif, Fauzan Omar, Kim Ng, Suzlee Ibrahim, and more through Samsung’s The Frame, with the colours and clarity as seen through the eyes of these sought-after Malaysian artists.

The Frame is available in various sizes; from the smallest 32” to the enormous 85” to suit your personal taste and lifestyle needs. It also comes with interchangeable frame bezels in different colours to swap according to your dĆ©cor or mood of the day. To explore the possibilities, visit:
