Vietjet reaches a new milestone as the sole airline offering direct flight between Hanoi and Hiroshima

The new service also marks the first international service launched from Hiroshima Airport after the global pandemic

Vietjet is proud to announce the inauguration of a direct route linking Vietnam's capital city, Hanoi, with Japan's enchanting city of Hiroshima. This milestone marks the airline's eighth route between the two countries and establishes the only direct air link between Hiroshima and Hanoi. With this new service, travellers can now look forward to a seamless travel experience and shorter travel times, increasing convenience for those journeying between these two dynamic destinations.

Mr. Yasuhiro Nakamura, President and Representative Director of Hiroshima International Airport, extended his congratulations to Vietjet on the new route launch, stating: “Vietjet's debut flight today marks the first new international service to be launched at Hiroshima Airport post-pandemic. We extend our appreciation for this milestone as it is a significant step in enhancing Hiroshima Airport's international network. As travel demand rises, we are committed to collaborating with all stakeholders to increase the service frequency and look forward to Vietjet’s flight expansion to Hiroshima.”

Vietjet Vice President, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh, expressed the airline’s gratitude for the support from the Japanese authorities and local partners, and said: “Vietjet currently operates 116 flights weekly between major Vietnamese cities and Japan's top destinations, including Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Nagoya, and now Hiroshima. The airline is committed to further expanding the connectivity between Vietnam and Japan, providing more convenient, cost-effective, and time-saving travel options for citizens and tourists of both nations, and across the regions.”

The route between Hanoi and Hiroshima operates return flights twice a week, departing on Thursdays and Sundays, with each leg lasting approximately four hours and 30 minutes. Malaysians keen to visit Hiroshima will now have an additional flight option by transiting in Ho Chi Minh City. Operating on a daily basis, flights between Kuala Lumpur and Ho Chi Minh City will give passengers more flexibility and an alternative flight route to Hiroshima.



To commemorate the launch of the new route, Vietjet is offering budget-friendly tickets starting from just RM120 all-in (exclusive of taxes and fees). These promotional fares can be booked on www.vietjetair.com and the Vietjet Air mobile app and are applicable not only to the new route but also to other international routes operated by Vietjet. The promotional tickets will be available every Friday, with travel dates available until 31 December 2024 (excluding holidays and peak travel seasons).
