McDonald’s Malaysia Rider Campaign Treats 70,000 Delivery Heroes

#MekdiBelanjaRider menyantuni 70,000 penunggang penghantaran atau rider serentak di seluruh negara |
Over 70,000 delivery riders across Malaysia got a well deserved surprise this June with a free meal, courtesy of McDonald’s Malaysia. As part of the fourth edition of its heartwarming #MekdiBelanjaRider campaign, the fast-food giant dished out thousands of McDonald’s Foldovers and Spicy McCrispy burgers in a nationwide gesture of gratitude.
What’s #MekdiBelanjaRider All About?
Launched in 2021, this yearly initiative by McDonald’s Malaysia shines a spotlight on food delivery riders, the everyday heroes who keep our cravings satisfied, rain or shine.
From 2PM to 5PM, riders could walk into any McDonald’s outlet and claim their complimentary meal. The best part? This wasn’t just limited to McDelivery riders, those from GrabFood, ShopeeFood, Foodpanda, and other services were included too.
“Riders are the heartbeat of our delivery ecosystem,” said Hajah Melati Abdul Hai, VP and Chief Impact Officer at McDonald’s Malaysia. “This is just a small thank-you for their massive contribution.”
Why It Hits Different in 2025
In an always-on world, delivery riders do more than just drop off meals. They connect people to comfort, to convenience, and to one another. And as Malaysia’s food delivery scene grows, McDonald’s continues to celebrate those who make it happen.
The campaign is part of McDonald’s ongoing community outreach efforts, which also include:
- Honouring teachers in May
- Celebrating orphans on their birthdays
- Supporting local mosques during Ramadan
Giving Back Is Always On The Menu
With more than 10,000 community driven events held annually across over 370 outlets, McDonald’s Malaysia proves it’s more than a place for burgers and fries, it’s a brand committed to real impact.
#MekdiBelanjaRider is more than a hashtag, it’s a reminder that kindness can be served up daily, one rider at a time.
