Following a year of strong growth, product launches and aftersales expansion, MG invites Malaysians to experience British Dynamics nationwide this Chinese New Year
MG Motor Malaysia enters 2026 on a strong footing following a
transformative 2025 marked by successful product introductions, sustained sales
growth, and Malaysia’s emergence as a key market for MG regionally.
MG’s
Growth in Demand and Market Interest in Malaysia
Back in
2025, MG spearheaded the launch of the budget-friendly MGS5 EV SUV in May,
followed by the introduction of the MG Cyberster EV in July, a powerful and
affordable rear-wheel-drive electric roadster that redefined MG’s performance
credentials. The year also saw the arrival of special editions, including the
MG5 X Edition and MG4 101 Edition in October, further strengthening MG’s
diverse line-up across both electric and internal combustion engine segments.
The MG
Cyberster achieved a significant milestone during the year, with Malaysia
becoming the No.1 best-selling market in Asia and Oceania (excluding China) for
the iconic all-electric roadster. This performance placed Malaysia among the
global top five markets for MG Cyberster sales, reinforcing the country’s
importance within MG’s international strategy.
The
strong product momentum translated into sustained growth towards the end of
2025. MG Motor Malaysia recorded healthy month-on-month growth of 20% in
October, 9% in November, and an impressive 50% in December, reflecting growing
trust and demand from Malaysian customers across both ICE and BEV segments.
Alongside
its product and sales momentum, MG Motor Malaysia continued to strengthen its
aftersales network in 2025 with the opening of six new authorised service
centres, bringing the total to nineteen MG authorised service centres
nationwide. The new outlets include MG Old Klang Road, MG Rimbayu, MG Motor
Miri, MG Motor Sibu, MG Motor Alor Setar, and MG Motor Sunway.

This
year, MG Motor Malaysia plans further after-sales expansion with upcoming
outlets in Jalan Ipoh, Kuching, Penang, Tebrau, and Bandar Tun Razak. As of
December 2025, the network comprises seventeen 3S outlets and two 2S outlets
nationwide, ensuring broader coverage and easier access to aftersales services
for customers across Malaysia.
Start of
the Year Promotion
To
kickstart the year, MG Motor Malaysia is rolling out a nationwide showroom
activation campaign, Drive British Dynamics This CNY, from 23 January to
31 January 2026. The campaign invites Malaysians to experience MG’s British
Dynamics through its distinctive design, safety, handling and performance.
Customers who participate in test drive sessions during the campaign will also
stand a chance to win Touch ’n Go credits worth RM100, subject to terms and
conditions.
In
conjunction with the Chinese New Year period, MG Motor Malaysia is offering
attractive limited-time promotions across its model range. Customers can enjoy
savings of up to RM28,000 on the MG S5 EV, RM42,000 on the MG HS, RM28,000 on
the MG4 EV, and RM11,000 on the MG5. Selected models are also available with
accelerated delivery, allowing customers to receive their vehicles in less than
one week, in time for Chinese New Year and Raya, subject to terms and
conditions.
Additionally,
MG Motor Malaysia is offering a Chinese New Year Aftersales Promotion from 16
January to 16 February 2026, featuring a free 30-point vehicle inspection, 15%
off maintenance parts, 10% off labour charges, and complimentary festive gifts,
