Experience the Best of Android and Linux in One
Device
The HONOR MagicPad 4 introduces what HONOR
describes as the world's first Android + Linux Dual-OS tablet experience,
giving users the flexibility to switch between two operating environments based
on their needs. Android mode delivers a familiar experience for everyday
productivity, communication, entertainment, and content consumption, while
LinuxLab provides a dedicated Linux environment designed for development,
testing, AI deployment, and technical workflows.
Supporting both Ubuntu and Debian environments,
LinuxLab is built on a secure, containerized architecture that enables users to
experience Linux while maintaining system stability and security. Installed
packages and system configurations remain available across reboots, while
important files can be stored in the dedicated /tablet directory, which remains
accessible through Android file management. To ensure a consistent and reliable
experience, certain low-level system functions, third-party applications, and
desktop PC capabilities may differ from those of a traditional Linux computer.
Bringing AI Agent Deployment to Mobile
Productivity
One of the most distinctive capabilities of the
HONOR MagicPad 4 is support for AI agent deployment through OpenClaw within
LinuxLab, enabling users to explore AI-powered workflows directly on the
device. As AI agents become increasingly relevant across education, software
development, research, and productivity, users can leverage LinuxLab to
automate repetitive tasks, organise information more efficiently, and
experiment with emerging AI technologies.
For example, a university student can attend an
online lecture on Android while using LinuxLab to explore AI-assisted study
workflows such as organising research materials, generating summaries, or
preparing revision notes. By bringing AI deployment capabilities to a highly
portable form factor, the MagicPad 4 expands what users can achieve on the go.
A Portable Linux Environment for Development and
Technical Workflows
LinuxLab is optimised for lightweight to medium
workloads such as Python and Node.js development, Android APK building,
scripting, automation, and software testing. Developers can access Bash,
essential Linux command-line tools, and familiar development workflows directly
on the tablet, creating a flexible environment for coding and experimentation.
Users can also run popular development tools
such as Visual Studio Code, Cursor and Claude Code enabling them to write,
debug, and refine projects from virtually anywhere. Whether building
applications, testing automation scripts, or exploring new ideas, LinuxLab
transforms the MagicPad 4 into a versatile platform for development,
experimentation, and technical productivity.
PC-Class Apps for Better Productivity and
Creativity
Beyond development, the HONOR MagicPad 4
delivers a desktop-inspired experience through close collaboration with leading
software partners. HONOR worked closely with WPS Office to bring a dedicated PC
version of the productivity suite to MagicPad 4, enabling users to work with
documents, spreadsheets, and presentations through a familiar desktop-style
interface with enhanced functionality and controls. This application will be
made available to users in July.
For creative users, the MagicPad 4 also supports
CapCut Pad, offering a more advanced editing experience than traditional mobile
workflows. With a larger workspace, timeline-based editing, layered controls,
and enhanced multitasking capabilities, users can create and edit content more
efficiently, making professional-grade creativity more accessible on a portable
device.
PC Mode with Support for Up to 20 Windows
To complement its productivity capabilities, the
HONOR MagicPad 4 features an advanced PC Mode that delivers a desktop-style
user interface with support for up to 20 simultaneous windows. Users can work
across multiple documents, browser tabs, communication tools, and applications
at the same time, making it easier to manage complex projects and multitask
efficiently. Combined with PC-style file management capabilities, the
experience brings the flexibility and familiarity of a traditional computer to
a highly portable tablet form factor.
Powerful Like a PC, Light Like a Tablet
Despite its extensive productivity capabilities,
the HONOR MagicPad 4 remains exceptionally portable. Measuring just 4.8mm thin
and weighing approximately 852g with keyboard and stylus available in-box, it
is designed for users who need the freedom to work and create from virtually
anywhere. Whether attending classes, travelling for business, working remotely,
or collaborating on creative projects, the MagicPad 4 provides a versatile
solution that adapts to modern lifestyles.
Seamless Cross-OS Connectivity for Apple Users
Recognising that many users rely on multiple
devices throughout the day, HONOR has equipped the MagicPad 4 with features
that support smoother cross-platform workflows. Users can wirelessly extend
their Mac display onto the MagicPad 4, share files seamlessly between iPhone
and MagicPad 4, and move between devices more efficiently without disrupting
their workflow. These capabilities help create a more connected experience
regardless of operating system preference.
