Japan's famous cherry blossom season is at the heart of Royal Caribbean's newly announced spring 2028 holidays aboard Voyager of the Seas, with a selection of itineraries offering travellers different ways to explore Japan and beyond.
Running from late February through April 2028, select sailing dates are timed to coincide with peak cherry blossom periods across different parts of Japan. Depending on the itinerary, travellers can visit historic ports such as Nagasaki and Osaka, discover the regional flavours of Kobe, Fukuoka, Kumamoto and Kagoshima, and explore Okinawa, Mount Fuji (Shimizu) and Sasebo (Uragashira). Some itineraries also extend to South Korea, including Jeju (Seogwipo) and Busan.

Three Ways to Explore Japan and Beyond
The new Voyager of the Seas season brings together three distinct ways to explore Japan, South Korea and the wider Pacific.
A 10-night open-jaw holiday from Hong Kong to Tokyo showcases a mix of Japanese history, culture and cuisine. The itinerary takes travellers to Nagasaki before heading to Kagoshima for its regional flavours. An overnight stay in Kobe provides more time to discover the cosmopolitan port city's scenic waterfront and culinary heritage, followed by Osaka and its renowned food scene before continuing to Tokyo.
Meanwhile, three roundtrip holidays from Tokyo, ranging from 11 to 12 nights, offer different combinations of major cities, regional destinations and island escapes across Japan and South Korea.
Depending on the itinerary, travellers can explore Kobe and Osaka, discover Kumamoto's castle heritage, sample Fukuoka's celebrated food culture and learn about Nagasaki's layered history. Other stops include Kagoshima for its volcanic scenery and regional flavours, and Sasebo, known for its scenic bays and coastal landscapes.
Select holidays also call at Jeju (Seogwipo) in South Korea, with its volcanic landscapes and coastal scenery, as well as Busan, a lively port city with a vibrant waterfront. Other highlights include Mount Fuji (Shimizu), offering views of Japan's iconic peak, and Okinawa, where an overnight stay provides additional time to experience the island's tropical landscapes.
For travellers looking to turn their Asian holiday into a longer journey, a 16-night Pacific crossing from Tokyo to Seattle heads north to Sapporo (Muroran). An overnight stay offers more time to discover Hokkaido's dramatic landscapes, coastal scenery and distinctive local flavours. The voyage then continues with a series of days at sea, including a crossing of the International Date Line, before arriving in Seattle, USA.

The new holidays form part of Voyager of the Seas' broader 2027-2028 Asia Pacific season, featuring voyages ranging from two to 16 nights departing from Brisbane and Sydney in Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong. The wider season takes travellers across Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, China, Japan and South Korea.
What to Do Aboard Voyager of the Seas
The destinations are only part of the experience, with Voyager of the Seas offering activities designed for different generations during days spent at sea.
Thrill-seekers can catch a wave on the FlowRider surf simulator, race down The Perfect Storm waterslides, scale the rock-climbing wall or go ice-skating at Studio B.
Families can challenge each other at Voyager Dunes, the ship's nine-hole mini-golf course, or compete in a glow-in-the-dark game of Laser Tag: Battle for Planet Z. Younger travellers have dedicated activities at Adventure Ocean, while teenagers can spend time together in their own space at the Living Room.

From Italian Favourites to Japanese Flavours
Dining aboard Voyager of the Seas ranges from Italian family-style favourites at Giovanni's Table and hand-cut steaks at Chops Grille to sushi and Japanese-inspired dishes at Izumi.
For something more casual, travellers can head to Windjammer or Café Promenade, giving them flexibility to spend their days at sea however they prefer, whether that means high-energy activities, family time, relaxed meals or simply unwinding between destinations.
