A Malaysian animated world has made its way from the screen to the highlands as Resorts World Genting introduces Spookadilly x Kisah Bawah Tanah, a new immersive Halloween attraction inspired by local folklore and supernatural characters.

Officially launched on 20 October 2026, the experience brings together Resorts World Genting's homegrown entertainment property, Spookadilly, and the Malaysian animated series Kisah Bawah Tanah, allowing visitors to explore familiar characters and settings through an interactive adventure.

The launch was attended by Teo Nie Ching, Deputy Minister of Communications, alongside representatives from Resorts World Genting and the creators of Kisah Bawah Tanah.

Designed for families, friends and younger audiences, the attraction combines Southeast Asian folklore, colourful environments and playful supernatural elements, offering a Halloween experience that is spooky without being overly frightening.

Bringing Malaysian Animated Characters to Life
The collaboration marks another milestone for Kisah Bawah Tanah, a homegrown animated property inspired by Southeast Asian folklore, as its characters make the transition into a physical entertainment experience.

Speaking at the launch, Spencer Lee, Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Public Relations at Resorts World Genting, said the collaboration supports the resort's efforts to develop Spookadilly as a homegrown entertainment intellectual property (IP).

"We are excited to bring Kisah Bawah Tanah to life at Resorts World Genting and create something that feels familiar, playful and uniquely Malaysian," he said.

"As we continue to develop Spookadilly as our own entertainment IP, this collaboration gives us an exciting opportunity to explore new characters, stories and experiences, while bringing together local storytelling and immersive entertainment in a way that families can enjoy together."

Hendra Wardi, co-creator of Kisah Bawah Tanah, also described the partnership as an important development for the animated property.

"Partnering with a world-class icon like Resorts World Genting just six months into Kisah Bawah Tanah's journey is an incredible milestone. Bringing together their decades of entertainment expertise with our fresh, playful energy just makes perfect sense," he said.

The collaboration offers fans an opportunity to engage with the characters beyond their original animated format, while introducing new audiences to Malaysian-inspired storytelling through an immersive attraction.

Explore Five Themed Zones in Spookadilly x Kisah Bawah Tanah
The adventure begins when Shrunken Head accidentally stumbles through a mysterious rift, causing chaos in the world of Bawah Tanah.

Visitors are invited to join Bonediddy, Pocing, Zack, Sam and their friends on a mission to restore order while exploring five themed zones inspired by the animated universe.

The five zones are:
  1. RnR
  2. Cahaya Apartments
  3. Spookadilly Graveyard
  4. Spookadilly Mansion
  5. The Mart
Each area features themed settings, familiar characters and playful surprises, allowing guests to experience different parts of the story as they progress through the attraction.

Rather than relying entirely on frightening encounters, Spookadilly x Kisah Bawah Tanah adopts a lighter approach to the supernatural, blending humour, mystery and exploration into an experience suitable for a wider audience.

Tickets are priced at RM30 per entry, making it an option for families looking for a themed outing during the school holiday period.

The Haunted Highlands 2026 Runs Until 20 November
Spookadilly x Kisah Bawah Tanah is one of the main attractions featured in The Haunted Highlands 2026, Resorts World Genting's Halloween celebration running until 20 November 2026.

For visitors who prefer a more intense horror experience, the festival also features The Echo Asylum, an immersive attraction set inside an abandoned mental hospital from the 1950s.

Designed for visitors aged 13 and above, The Echo Asylum offers a darker and more frightening experience compared with the family-friendly Spookadilly attraction.

Tickets for The Echo Asylum are priced at RM78 per entry.

Visitors who want to experience both attractions can opt for the Double the Fear combo, priced at RM90, which includes admission to both The Echo Asylum and Spookadilly x Kisah Bawah Tanah.

For those planning a longer day at the resort, the Horror Adventure package is available at RM128. This package combines admission to both haunted attractions with a Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park Standard 1-Day Ticket, allowing visitors to enjoy the Halloween experiences alongside the theme park's rides and attractions.

Halloween Parades, Live Performances and Concert
Beyond the two immersive attractions, The Haunted Highlands 2026 will feature a range of Halloween-themed activities throughout Resorts World Genting.

Visitors can look forward to spooky parades, live entertainment, character meet-and-greet sessions, themed food and beverages, and other activities taking place across the resort.

Another highlight is the Halloween Live Experience Concert 2026, scheduled for 31 October 2026 at the Arena of Stars.

The concert will feature performances by Nick Chou, DJ Blink, Wang Jackson and Zen Ng, adding a live music element to the resort's Halloween celebrations.

With activities ranging from family-friendly supernatural adventures to more intense horror attractions, The Haunted Highlands 2026 offers visitors different ways to celebrate Halloween in the highlands.
