Current COVID-19 statistics from WHO as of 6 pm, March 4, 2020. Deaths increased in Italy to 79 cases, Iran 77 cases and South Korea 33 cases. Cases in Italy and Iran exceed 2,000. The United States had 9 deaths, France  had 4 deaths, and Spain recorded the first death.

Seven (7) new cases of the COVID19 in Malaysia, Mar 3, 2020 bringing the total so far to 36 cases. Of 36 cases, 14 cases are being treated at Sungai Buloh Hospital (HSB) and Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) while 22 cases recovered well and discharged. All the patients are in stable condition. One (1) new country were listed, namely Saudi Arabia.

Muhyiddin Yassin sworn in as the 8th Malaysian Prime Minister

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was officially sworn in at Istana Negara as Malaysia’s prime minister on Sunday (Mar 1) morning, following a week of political upheaval in the country. A statement issued by the palace on Saturday said the king, after meeting all members of parliament (MPs), has found that the parliamentarian who likely commands the majority is Tan Sri Muhyiddin, the Pagoh MP. “Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah said the appointment of the prime minister cannot be delayed for the well-being of the people and the nation. The United States reported the first death case for COVID19. The US government has banned Iranian visitors and advised their citizens to refrain from visiting South Korea and Italy.  Due to the additional four (4) cases occurring in Malaysia, the total number of cases was 29. 22 out of which were recovered and 7 were still being treated in the ward.

Japan records another case of COVID19 death with a total mortality of 5.  Due to escalating cases in South Korea, Iran, Italy, Japan including China, the MOH warned people to postpone travel to these countries if possible.
