Current Updates on COVID-19 in Malaysia [12 October 2020]
The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to inform that 109 cases have fully recovered and discharged today. Cumulatively, 11,022 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been discharged (67.9% of total cumulative cases). A total of 563 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today. Cumulatively there are 16,220 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 5,039 active and infective COVID-19 cases . They have all been isolated and given treatment. Of the 563 cases reported today, one (1) is an imported case who was infected overseas , a traveller from Indonesia, reported in Kuala Lumpur, a Malaysian. Of the 562 local transmission cases, 498 cases are Malaysians and 64 cases are non-Malaysians. Bank Islam Temporarily Shuts Lahad Datu Branch
Thorough sterilization and disinfection of the branch were conducted to protect the wellbeing of customers and employees Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (“Bank Islam”) is temporarily closing its Lahad Datu Branch in Sabah, including its self-service terminals effective immediately until further notice. The branch closure is part of the precautionary steps taken after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The staff is currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital. The employee and her immediate family underwent home quarantine since 28 September 2020 after a recent trip to Tawau. The step is taken in accordance with Bank Islam’s safety and health guidelines on COVID-19. Bank Islam has conducted thorough sterilisation and disinfection of the branch, including its common facilities today. The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to inform that 133 cases have fully recovered and discharged today. Cumulatively, 10,913 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been discharged (69.7% of total cumulative cases). A total of 561 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today. Cumulatively there are now 15,657 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 4,587 active and infective COVID-19 cases . They have all been isolated and given treatment.
