Current Updates on COVID-19 in Malaysia [18 October 2020]

The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to inform that 701 cases have fully recovered and discharged today. Cumulatively, 13,262 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been discharged (64.7% of total cumulative cases).

 

A total of 871 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today. Cumulatively there are 20,498 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 7,049 active and infective COVID-19 cases. They have all been isolated and given treatment.

 

Of the 871 cases reported today, five (5) is an imported case who was infected overseas.

Currently, 86 confirmed COVID-19 cases are receiving treatment in the intensive care units (ICUs), with 28 patients on ventilation support.

 

Regretfully, seven (7) additional COVID-19 deaths were reported to the National CPRC MOH today. Cumulatively, there are now 187 COVID-19 deaths in Malaysia (0.9% of total cumulative cases).
