World Tourism Day is celebrated every year on September 27th around the world to raise awareness on tourism's social, cultural, political, and economic values, as well as the sector's contribution towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
Aligned with this year's World Tourism Day 2021 theme; "Tourism for Inclusive Growth", Tourism Selangor's Sports and Recreation Club (SRC) organised a CSR Voluntourism programme at Kanching Eco Forest Park on October 7th, 2021 in honour of World Tourism Day 2021.
Tourism Selangor’s Voluntourism Programme was an initiative to implement cleanliness, health, safety, and environmental sustainability as the first and foremost priority. This effort is expected to be applied to Tourism Selangor’s employees, with the vision to expand the efforts in the future. As such, the "gotong-royong" activity at Kanching Eco Forest Park was carried out by 17 participating club members from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with the aim to emphasize on the importance of maintaining cleanliness and raising awareness on the significance of environmental conservation efforts.
Kanching Eco Forest Park is located in Rawang and is about 21 km away from Kuala Lumpur. This forest park is a very popular spot for picnic, camping, jungle trekking and swimming activities, especially on the weekends. You will be impressed with the beauty of its surrounding; particularly on the stunning seven levels of waterfalls.
