LG Electronics Highlights Mental Load In the AI Era Through 2026 Life’s Good Campaign

Ever found yourself lying in bed thinking about tomorrow's tasks, the laundry that needs doing, the groceries you forgot to buy or the countless little things waiting for your attention? Even when you're not physically doing anything, your mind can still feel exhausted.

This invisible burden is known as mental load, and it's something many people experience while juggling work, family responsibilities and everyday household tasks.

According to survey findings shared by LG Electronics (LG), people spend the equivalent of 87 days a year dealing with mental load, or nearly a quarter of the year. The findings highlight how constant information, small decisions and daily responsibilities can occupy a significant amount of our mental energy.

To bring greater attention to this issue, LG introduced its 2026 Life's Good campaign under the message "Free Up Your Mind", exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) can help reduce everyday burdens and give people more time and attention for the things that matter most.

LG Electronics 2026 Life's Good campaign Free Up Your Mind explores how AI can help reduce everyday mental load

Timed around World Mental Health Day, the campaign highlights a side of everyday life that often goes unnoticed. Mental load isn't necessarily about the physical effort involved in completing a task, but the responsibility of remembering, planning, organising and making decisions throughout the day.

For instance, doing the laundry may only take a few minutes of actual effort, but remembering when to wash clothes, choosing the right settings and making sure everything is ready for the next day can add to the mental demands of running a household.

Through its vision of a Zero Labor Home, LG is exploring how AI-powered technology can take care of more routine household responsibilities, reducing both physical effort and the mental attention needed to manage them.

Rather than positioning AI simply as a tool for convenience or efficiency, the campaign focuses on how technology could make everyday life feel less demanding.

At the centre of the campaign is a hero film featuring a real family, with family members sharing their experiences of managing household responsibilities and the emotional weight that comes with keeping everything running smoothly.

The film illustrates how LG AI can handle routine demands in the background, allowing family members to spend less time worrying about household tasks and more time enjoying meaningful moments together.

The campaign also brought in Dr Judith Joseph, a board-certified psychiatrist, to provide expert perspectives on mental load through educational content and media initiatives.

Another initiative was LG's Mental Load Test, an interactive experience designed to encourage people to reflect on the mental responsibilities they carry in their everyday lives. According to LG, the test attracted more than 570,000 participants.

Beyond the hero film and interactive test, LG extended the campaign through creator collaborations, social media storytelling and local activities across different markets.

The company reported that the 2026 Life's Good campaign reached consumers in 53 markets worldwide and generated more than 3 billion content views across its various campaign activities.

For LG, these initiatives reflect a broader ambition to make technology more responsive to people's everyday needs, particularly as AI becomes increasingly integrated into homes and daily routines.

"Over the past four years, the Life's Good campaign has demonstrated how innovation can enrich people's lives in meaningful ways," said Kim Hyo-eun, Head of LG's Brand Management Division.

"As AI becomes increasingly integrated into everyday life, its role should extend beyond convenience and efficiency. The most meaningful innovations are those that reduce invisible burdens and give people back the time and attention often consumed by everyday demands."

While technology cannot eliminate every responsibility or source of stress, LG's campaign raises an interesting question about the future of smart homes. What if the real benefit of AI isn't simply getting household tasks done faster, but having fewer things to think about in the first place?

As more household appliances become connected and intelligent, the opportunity lies in making technology genuinely helpful without requiring users to constantly manage it.

Ultimately, the message behind LG's 2026 Life's Good campaign is a simple one. A better everyday experience isn't necessarily about doing more. Sometimes, it's about having fewer things on your mind and more room to enjoy life.
