For more than three decades, Fernleaf has been providing the best nutrition made from 100% New Zealand’s natural milk for healthy family growth. A brand under the dairy company Fonterra Brands (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, Fernleaf has created a household name for itself over the years as the demand for dairy nutrition in Malaysia increases over time.

In its efforts to expand its business so more Malaysians have the opportunity to grow up with Fernleaf, the brand joined Shopee Malaysia in January 2019. Fernleaf saw the importance of entering the e-commerce space to make their products widely available to fulfill the nutritional needs of more Malaysian families.

“Dairy consumption in Malaysia is expected to grow by 3% on a yearly basis as consumers are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of daily nutrition. As a dairy brand, the onus is on us to satisfy the increasing appetite for dairy products. With the advancement of technology and growing number of consumers shopping online for essential items such as groceries, we identified e-commerce as our new trade channel. However, we do not have the resources such as manpower, technology and logistic partners to set up and run our own online retail store. Hence, we turned to e-commerce platforms like Shopee to make our products available online. With a user base of around 20 million and an efficient end-to-end solution offering, we know we are able to reach new segments of consumers effectively,” said Karen Ong, Marketing Director.

Since launching on the platform, Fernleaf has seen a strong uplift in e-commerce sales. The demand for Fernleaf’s high-quality and nutritious dairy products reflects favourable consumer awareness of the brand and the increasing dairy consumption across Malaysia. Fernleaf expects sales to continue to increase year on year.

“One of the most important elements of online shopping that makes for good customer experience is the delivery time. By partnering with Shopee, we are now able to deliver our Fernleaf products to our online customers the next day,” added Karen Ong.

As one of the brands under Shopee Mart, Shopee’s own online supermarket, Fernleaf’s consumers are guaranteed to receive their products the next day when they place their orders by 2pm (excluding Sunday and public holidays), or their next shipment will be free. Those who place their orders on Saturday before 2pm will have their items delivered on Monday. The next-day delivery is currently available for users within Klang Valley and is applicable to the full assortment of 10,000 items in Shopee Mart.
