The nationwide collage competition by Nestlé Koko Krunch and the Ministry of Education Malaysia brought together students from 534 schools to celebrate the country’s landscapes, communities and cultural heritage.

Malaysia’s landmarks, wildlife and traditions became the subjects of colourful collages as 11,208 students from 534 schools across 141 districts participated in this year’s KOKO KRAF CLUB.
Organised by Nestlé Koko Krunch in partnership with the Ministry of Education Malaysia, the nationwide competition encouraged students to express what makes the country special through art. Following district and state rounds, 15 finalist teams gathered at NU Sentral, Kuala Lumpur, for the Grand Finale.
Taking inspiration from Visit Malaysia 2026, the competition guided participants through three themes, beginning with ‘Beauty of My District’, followed by ‘Beauty of My State’ and culminating in ‘Beauty of Malaysia’ at the national level. Each stage encouraged students to observe their surroundings and explore the places, cultures and communities they know, bringing their ideas to life through colour, texture and collage.

Aniqkh Hasiff, Afifa Auliaa and Nisaa Izz from Sekolah Kebangsaan Balai Badang were named national champions. Their winning artwork combined iconic landmarks, native wildlife, the Rafflesia and traditional elements in a vibrant celebration of Malaysia’s natural beauty and cultural richness.
Drawing on the country’s diverse landscapes and heritage, the team brought these elements together to tell a story of what makes Malaysia unique. The students received RM1,500 in cash and certificates, while their school was awarded RM2,000 in recognition of their achievement.
For Philip Joe, Business Executive Officer of Nestlé Cereal Partners Worldwide Malaysia and Singapore, one of the most inspiring aspects of the competition was the variety of perspectives reflected in the students’ work. Whether focused on a familiar landmark, a cultural tradition or the people within a community, each collage told its own story.
He explained that KOKO KRAF CLUB was created to give children space to express their viewpoints through creativity, building on their natural curiosity and imagination. Participation by more than 11,000 students was particularly encouraging, with the Ministry of Education Malaysia partnership helping to bring the experience to schools and communities nationwide and allowing young Malaysians to showcase their creativity on a national stage.
Through hands-on art activities, the programme encourages creativity, imagination and self-expression while giving children a platform to celebrate the communities and cultures that shape Malaysia.
YB Wong Kah Woh, Deputy Minister of Education Malaysia, highlighted that education goes beyond imparting knowledge. It also involves creating opportunities for students to discover their abilities and develop their potential.
He noted that platforms such as KOKO KRAF CLUB complement classroom learning by offering another avenue for students to explore visual arts and demonstrate their abilities. Seeing participants progress from schools and districts across the country to represent their communities at the national level was also encouraging, giving them an opportunity to take pride in both their work and their roots.
For Sekolah Kebangsaan Tangkungon in Telupid, Sabah, reaching the finale was an achievement shared by the wider school community. Nelly Jimmy shared that two teams qualified to compete in Kuala Lumpur from the school’s 15 submitted entries.
Teachers, parents and the school worked together to help the students prepare and travel from Telupid to the capital. Although the journey required considerable effort, the opportunity for the children to experience a setting beyond their everyday surroundings made it worthwhile. The experience has since inspired the school to establish a dedicated collage group in preparation for next year’s KOKO KRAF CLUB.
Beyond the competition itself, the programme encouraged young Malaysians to look more closely at their surroundings and appreciate the stories behind the places they call home. Together, the creations of 11,208 students offered thousands of individual perspectives on Malaysia, reflecting the country’s diversity, creativity and sense of pride.
