50,000 breakfasts for Malaysian commuters

Complete your breakfast with No. 1 milk, Dutch Lady this October!
There are many reasons a healthy breakfast should be a daily routine for you and your family. But if it is not, help is on the way! October is Dutch Lady Breakfast Month and the No. 1 milk brand will partner Kellogg’s to give away 50,000 sets of breakfast for free from 21 to 31 October at various LRT stations in Klang Valley!
Dutch Lady Milk Industries Berhad (DLMI) advocates Malaysians to boost their daily nutrient needs by pairing their breakfast with a glass of milk. “Breakfast is the first nourishment our body gets after 8 to 12 hours of fasting from the last meal. It fuels our body and brain by providing the nutrients we need for the day ahead. This is why a nutritious breakfast is important to give us a strong start to the day,” said Ms. Ramjeet Kaur Virik, Marketing Director, Consumer Dairy, DLMI.
The benefits of eating breakfast are proven. Children and adolescents who habitually consume breakfast are more likely to have better micro and macronutrient intake, less likely to be overweight or obese, and more likely to have higher physical activity levels.

Studies also showed that breakfast skippers were 1.34 times more likely to be overweight than breakfast eaters who are likely to have a better total dietary intake, including key nutrients such as sodium, fibre, and folate which helps in maintaining a healthy weight. Breakfast also fills you up and helps to avoid overeating or snacking later in the day.
Despite the benefits of eating breakfast, we would tend to skip it most of the time. Mornings are usually the busiest time of the day for most families and working adults. For urbanites, waking up early to beat the jam is crucial to getting to school and work on time. According to My Breakfast Study, 1 in 4 Malaysian children, aged 6 to 17 years old, skipped breakfast at least 3 days per week.

This is mostly due to insufficient time to prepare or eat breakfast. According to the Asia Pacific Healthy Breakfast Survey, the key reasons Malaysians decided to skip breakfast are convenience and accessibility, lack of time and the amount of effort required to prepare breakfast. Interestingly, 75% of respondents make breakfast decisions based on convenience, while 39% on health benefits and nutritional value was at 37% with the least consideration.
Although it is easy to skip breakfast, it is crucial to make starting the day with a full, nutrient-dense meal as our top priority. In fact, a nutritious breakfast can be easily accessible and quick to prepare, such as pairing your breakfast with ready-to-drink milk.

“Milk is one of the most nutritionally complete beverages. It is recommended by the Ministry of Health Malaysia to include milk as part of our daily balanced diet under the Malaysian Dietary Guidelines food pyramid,” said Ramjeet.

Ramjeet continued to emphasise that Malaysians are consuming way less milk than our body needs to reap its nutritious benefits. “According to the Malaysian Adults Nutrition Survey 2014, adults are consuming only 0.4 glasses of milk per week as opposed to the Malaysian Dietary Guidelines recommendation of 1 to 3 glasses per day.  Children did not fare any better, based on SEANUTS, Malaysian children drink only half a serving of milk a day, only 5% of children actually meet the recommended 2 servings of milk daily”.
She added: “It’s difficult to get all your nutrient needs in one meal and breakfast should provide 20 – 25% of our daily nutritional need. The commonly consumed Malaysian breakfasts, such as nasi lemak or sandwich do not provide sufficient amount of nutrients we need in the morning They usually fall short of protein, vitamin D, calcium and energy. However, when you pair your breakfast with a glass milk, nutrient intake for breakfast can be easily achieved”.
Zooming in on the nutritional benefits, calcium in milk helps children develop strong bones and teeth and adults to maintain healthy bones mass to help lead an active lifestyle. Besides calcium, milk also provides other essential nutrients that our body cannot produce on its own, like protein.

Protein in milk serves as the building blocks of our muscles, bones, hair, and nails, and it also plays a major role in various biological processes, including the formation, regulation, repair, and protection of our body.
“With each glass of 250ml of Dutch Lady PureFarm or +Protein milk provides not only calcium but high-quality protein too. Besides that, milk contains other essential nutrients such as vitamin D, A and B2. So drinking a glass of milk at breakfast is the easiest way to boost your nutritional intake in the morning,” said Ramjeet.
DLMI is calling out to all Malaysians to boost their breakfast nutrition with a glass of milk this October! In conjunction with Dutch Lady Breakfast month, Dutch Lady collaborates with Kellogg’s to give out 50,000 sets of FREE breakfast containing milk and cereal at 10 LRT stations from 21 to 31 October, 6 to 11 am! So why not start your day strong with Dutch Lady milk, even if you are on-the-go!
For more information on dates and locations (LRT stations) to get your free breakfasts, please visit Dutch Lady Malaysia Facebook at www.facebook.com/spread.the.goodness.of.milk or https://www.dutchlady.com.my/events.php.

Samsung Malaysia shows that The Smart Time to Switch is NOW

When you think about the most important features of a smartphone, what comes to mind? Is it a long battery life? A professional-grade camera? Security? Or even the simple existence of Google Maps, Drive, and YouTube? For most of us, it’s all of the above.

With the aspiration to give consumers a complete smartphone experience, from entrepreneur, gaming, entertainment to photography, Samsung Malaysia has initiated the second iteration of its #iChanged campaign. The campaign, through a series of videos, brings to light the many predicaments that consumers go through. However, these challenges are easily overcome through the power of innovative tools available in the Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Samsung Galaxy S10.

“During the process of designing our products, Samsung consistently keeps its consumers in mind so that the best 360-experience is ensured – be it in the form of an all-day battery, S Pen, award-winning camera, expandable storage, or defense-grade security platform. Moreover, Samsung’s products are endorsed by Google as well; and this partnership is something we value greatly and would use to provide better experiences for our users moving forward. The time to switch is now, and we hope that consumers will take the leap to own the next level of innovation,” said Yoonsoo Kim, President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

For those who are concerned about the hassle of switching smartphones, fret not as one of the great things of switching to a Samsung product is its Smart Switch app. This application gives users the complete liberty to transfer files, photos, videos, music, contacts, and apps over seamlessly from their old smartphone onto a new Samsung device; and is supported on both iOS and Android devices.

The #iChanged campaign documents 10 important and common situations that many of us often find ourselves in. Nonetheless, with tools such as Samsung’s Advanced Super-Steady video recording, DeX, Samsung Knox, Video Editor, All-Day Battery, S-Pen Screenwrite, and Google Drive, Maps, Play Store, and YouTube; these issues are efficiently resolved.

Warkah Terbaharu Dari Nico G

NICO G tampil dengan album kolaborasi bersama produser underground
Perjuangan seni kumpulan NICO G terus rancak biarpun rentak industri hiburan masa kini jauh berbeza berbanding waktu awal kemunculan mereka hampir tiga dekad dahulu.

Menurut salah seorang ahli kumpulan NICO G iaitu Dino G, idea menerbitkan Projek album ’Black Edition’ terinspirasi apabila NICO G menerima sambutan di luar jangkaan bagi pertunjukkan gig anjuran mereka iaitu ‘The Hip Hop Showcase by NICO G’.

Baru, HDYT Streetwear, Warung Pak Hassan Kg. Baru, Restoran Nasi Padang Kg. Baru, Fam’ Fries Kitchen milik pelakon Aedy Ashraf dan banyak lagi.

Samsung Wins ‘Best Wi-Fi Innovation’ at WBA Industry Awards

Samsung Electronics was awarded the 2019 ‘Best Wi-Fi Innovation Award’ by the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA). The honour was bestowed upon Samsung’s Galaxy S10 for its Intelligent Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi 6 innovations, making it the first smartphone to ever receive the award.

The Galaxy S10’s Intelligent Wi-Fi utilizes machine learning to ensure that users’ Wi-Fi connections are both smart and safe. The innovation enables the device to recognize when a user has entered a space where Wi-Fi connections are likely to be unstable, and automatically switch to LTE connectivity to avoid network interruption. What’s more, Intelligent Wi-Fi allows the device to more quickly detect weaker Wi-Fi signals in places like elevators, allowing it to transition from Wi-Fi to LTE connectivity much more quickly. Upon connecting to a new network, the function even allows the device to analyze traffic patterns and notify users if the network is suspicious, thus protecting them from dangers such as phishing and malware attacks.

The Galaxy S10’s Wi-Fi 6 capability provides smartphone support for next generation technology, boosting download and upload speeds by up to 20 percent compared to previous generations of Wi-Fi. When users are in crowded areas where Wi-Fi signals would usually be slow and unstable, Wi-Fi 6 allows for network connections that are about four times faster than those experienced by users of older Wi-Fi generations connecting in the same location. And surprisingly, this added speed and reliability actually uses less battery power, not more, allowing users to conserve power for when they need it.

The WBA Industry Awards have been honoring remarkable developments in Wi-Fi ecosystems globally for the past seven years. The awards acknowledge exceptional innovations in wireless networks, smart cities and remote wireless deployments in the interests of recognizing and encouraging excellence and promoting successful practices. Each shortlisted nomination is featured in a WBA Case Study so that the innovation may be shared with the wider industry.

The ‘Best Wi-Fi Innovations’ category acknowledges network operators and technology companies whose solutions are post-deployment, and “recognizes and celebrates innovations and deployments with Wi-Fi, which enable seamless and secure support, greater interoperability and/or transformational benefits to customers.”

Speaking about the recent awards win, Jong-Mu Choi, Head of Convergence R&D Group at Samsung Electronics said, “Samsung is proud that its Wi-Fi innovations have been recognized in such a way. The company will keep working to enable its devices to make use of these new Wi-Fi capabilities, so that the improved usability therein reaches consumers as quickly as possible.  One example of this is the Galaxy Note10’s recent accreditation as Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 6™, which saw it join the Galaxy S10 as one of Samsung’s certified Wi-Fi 6-capable devices. Going forward, Samsung looks forward to utilizing faster, smarter Wi-Fi connections as the foundation that will allow it to continue bringing added convenience to users.”

AirAsia files claim against Malaysia Airports for RM480 million

AirAsia on Wednesday filed a RM479.78 million claim at the Kuala Lumpur High Court against Malaysia Airports (Sepang) Sdn Bhd (MASSB), a unit of Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB).

The claim against MASSB is for losses and damages suffered by AirAsia Berhad and its long-haul sister airline AirAsia X Berhad caused by MASSB’s negligence in the management, operation, maintenance and provision of airport services and facilities at klia2.

MASSB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of MAHB responsible for managing and operating Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and klia2.

AirAsia and AirAsia X had earlier sought mediation by the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) on their dispute with MASSB, in accordance with Sections 74 to 78 of the Mavcom Act.

Despite this, Mavcom refused to mediate, and a subsequent attempt by AirAsia to seek a judicial review of Mavcom’s inaction was dismissed.

AirAsia Berhad CEO Riad Asmat and AirAsia X Berhad CEO Benyamin Ismail said, “We did not want to do this but Malaysia Airports and Mavcom have forced our hand. Despite our best efforts to settle this matter amicably and through the right channels, we feel compelled to file this claim as we were left with no other recourse to protect our interests.

“This dispute all started when Malaysia Airports filed a civil suit against us over Passenger Service Charges (PSC) after rejecting our offer to go for mediation. We have always been open to resolving issues with our partners constructively, and we still contend that Malaysia Airports was heavy-handed in filing the suit.”

Invited guests invited to take a group with the giant Pink Ribbon structure outside the event venue at the end of the media launch of Watsons Pink Power.
In order to reach out to the younger set of audience, this year we decided to bring to life the journey of a breast cancer survivor in a touching Instagram Story inspired by a real-life breast cancer survivor. As there is nothing more impactful than visual messaging. We hope this video will increase the awareness of breast cancer and encourage self- checks and early detection. The Pink Power campaign in-collaboration with the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia aims to communicate that breast cancer patients have support groups with various programs. This is so that breast cancer patients don’t feel helpless and alone in their challenging journey combating the disease.

2019 has been a meaningful year for Samsung, marking the 50th anniversary of its founding. Adding to that, the past 10 years have been even more significant – as Samsung paved the way for the Malaysian society and its consumers to do and achieve what was previously thought unimaginable, thanks to the power of innovative technologies and meaningful ideas. This is Samsung’s timeless commitment to its consumers.

Once again, this commitment to its consumers was recognised by the industry itself at the 2019 Putra Brand Awards, as Samsung Malaysia Electronics bagged two highly-coveted Platinum Awards under the “Communication Devices” and “Cameras, IT and Office & Business Equipment” categories. In addition to that, Samsung took home a Gold award for its contribution to the “Personal, Households & Outdoor Appliances” segment as well.

“The past 50 years have been amazing for Samsung, and we are truly proud and grateful for everything that we have accomplished. Currently, our next bold vision is to take it to the next level – to truly make the idea of Connected Living a reality. This means producing half a billion devices a year that are both connected and intelligent. With that, a whole new world of connectivity and convenience will be ushered in, allowing us to focus on the most important things.

We started off as a humble trading business 50 years ago, but have now evolved into an undisputed global leader in IT and consumer electronics that we are today. Essentially, this is exactly what we want to inspire in our consumers – to do what you can’t,” said Yoonsoo Kim, President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics.

We are ecstatic about the win yet humbled at the same time, as we have set a high bar for ourselves that we must adhere to,” he added.

“Over the decades, we have built an unwavering trust through pioneering technology. 50 great years have passed, and as Samsung propels towards the next 50 years, there are two guiding principles that will stand the test of time – innovation and trust. These two key principles are what we will hold onto more firmly than ever as we continue our pursuit of more inventive innovations that will make our vision of Connected Living a reality,” President Kim concluded.

Now in its 10th year, the distinguished Putra Brand Awards is an annual premier brand awards event which recognises brand-building as an integral business investment, measured by consumer preference.

It was first launched in 2010 by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) in association with the Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands (MMVB).

In determining its winners, the Putra Brand Awards utilises a robust consumer research method in which 6,000 consumers themselves vote for their favourite brands in specified categories. With the Malaysian consumers themselves acting as the judges of this distinguished event, Samsung was named the most-preferred smartphone and IT & offices equipment brand; solidifying its position as the leader in the arena of personal and work technology.
