Suraiya Syed Mohamed (Director of Health Education, Ministry of Health) and the teacher representative of Sekolah Rendah Al-Hidayah, Perak, the winner of Kelab Dotor Muda bersama Jordan.
Jordan Dental Care Malaysia, together with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education, emphasised on the importance of oral hygiene and educating school children on proper teeth brushing techniques through their activities with the Kelab Doktor Muda (Young Doctors Club) of 25 participating schools in the states of Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Perak, Putrajaya, and Selangor.

The ‘Program Kelab Doktor Muda bersama Jordan’ (Young Doctors Club Programme with Jordan) featured a number of activities which included both teachers and students, including Plaque Scan Video Challenge, Finding Jordan Picasso Challenge, Infographic Message Challenge, Brush Time for Kids App Challenge and Oral Hygiene Banner Challenge - all of these activities were uploaded onto individual schools’ Jordan Kelab Doktor Muda Facebook page. There was also a special bonus challenge whereby students were encouraged to “Go Green” by donating their old plastic toothbrushes to Jordan to be recycled.

The activities carried out by the students were given scores based on their messaging, creativity, the involvement of the community, as well as the likes and shares garnered for each Facebook post. Five schools earned the highest points, thus becoming the champions of the ‘Kelab Doktor Muda’ Oral Hygiene Competition 2019, which marked the end of this year’s oral hygiene awareness programme.
