It was an unforgettable night of angsty anthems and piercing power chords at the Yoodo x The Bee Presents: Punkrock Picnic recently featuring pioneering Punk Rock bands, Bunkface and One Buck Short.

Speaking on the performance, One Buck Short’s bassist, Izal said, “It has been a while since we had the full line up of our band. This performance was a great way to kick off our musical journey and fans can expect more exciting gigs to follow. We were glad to go out there and rock out with our fans.”

Yoodo x The Bee Presents: Punkrock Picnic, is the follow-up to Yoodo’s successful inaugural Yoodo Presents event held earlier this year. That event featured 6 local indie music acts including Sevencollar T-shirt, Modescape, An Honest Mistake, Battle Bloom, Nadhira and A.RON.

Agoda Reveals Most Popular Places to Celebrate New Year’s Eve

Agoda.com, one of the world’s fastest growing digital travel platforms, reveals Tokyo, Paris and Las Vegas are the destinations-of-choice in Asia Pacific, Europe and North America for travelers celebrating New Year’s Eve.

In Asia Pacific, Tokyo steadfastly continues to be the most popular destination to ring in the New Year taking top spot again in 2019, while Taipei moves up to number two spot, and knocks Bangkok into third place. This year, in North America, the party city of Las Vegas has edged out New York as the number one New Year’s Eve destination. Hawaii’s Honolulu entered the list of the first time this year, coming in strong at the fourth rank with its beaches, lively parties and rich culture.

Samsung Raises Awareness On STEM Education Through Its B40 Children’s Outreach Programme

As the next generation holds upon their shoulders our hopes and visions for the future, it is vital that we play our part in creating environments that motivate, empower, and inspire the next generation to beat the impossible and do what they can’t. This year, educating the future generation has been the focus of Samsung’s corporate responsibility and hence, Samsung launched its B40 Children’s Outreach Programme. The initiative’s objective was to expose children from the household income group of under RM3,000 (B40) to the wonders of the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Held from the 17th till 20th December 2019, Samsung’s B40 Children’s Outreach Programme was a major project carried out in partnership with Me Books Asia, with the support from Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Selangor (PPAS), Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor (YAWAS), Persatuan Taska Negeri Selangor, Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ), CoBlix, and Atom & The Dot. The four-day workshop, which took place through twenty-two sessions, introduced over 200 children from six schools and the public to fun and interactive STEM learning activities; such as interactive storytelling workshops, coding & cool virtual reality experiences, and more hands-on science experiments.

AirAsia wins Miri City Mayor Award for its economic and social contributions to Miri

AirAsia has won the coveted Mayor’s Special Award at the Miri City Mayor Award 2019 for its significant contribution to the economic and social aspects of Miri and its people.

The award was presented to AirAsia’s Non-Independent Non-Executive Director Dato’ Abdul Aziz Bin Abu Bakar by Miri Mayor Adam Yii.

For custom LED display aboard cruise ship MSC Grandiosa, Samsung and MSC Cruises awarded top prize in the Best Overall Customer Experience category

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. and MSC Cruises were awarded for Best Overall Customer Experience from Daily DOOH, a leading industry publication, in recognition of their outstanding innovation in digital signage.

Samsung provided interactive touchscreens, digital signage and over 2,400 in-cabin TVs throughout MSC Grandiosa, the latest and largest flagship of MSC Cruises, as part of its longstanding partnership with the company. MSC Cruises had launched the MSC for Me digital ecosystem in 2017 to bring the latest connected cruise experience to its guests.

The project’s crowning achievement is located at the ship’s indoor promenade, the central social hub of the ship, where the custom 93-meter Samsung curved LED IF040H-D display is installed on the ceiling. The display has been dynamically designed to create an awe-inspiring atmosphere at all times, and it showcases mesmerizing visual performances three times a day.

“The longest LED sky at sea is one of the unique features of our Meraviglia generation ships, including MSC Grandiosa, topping the Mediterranean promenade and creating a one of a kind experience for our guests,” said Luca Pronzati, Chief Business Innovation Officer at MSC Cruises. “We worked together with Samsung to create this core element of the multi-use space, using state-of the-art technology. This helps to create different ambiances and atmospheres throughout the day and night, while also playing a key role in the ship’s entertainment schedule with its range of mesmerising shows.”

KL Hip Hop Festival 2019

Join the ultimate Hip Hop party of the year.

BSync Live, an entertainment production company, in partnership with NICO G Entertainment, a company owned by NICO G, announced today that they will be hosting a Hip Hop festival called ‘KL HIP HOP FESTIVAL 2019' (KLHHF 2019) on December 14, 2019 at UDG KL @ Ruang by Think City, Jalan Hang Kasturi, Kuala Lumpur, opposite the Central Market, from 2PM (door opens, performances starts at 4pm) til late. The show features Hip Hop legends and rising stars such as NICO G, Ruffneck Clique, Lawalah Familia, Balan Kash, The Great San, Sxph, Delaflare and Budak Belakang. The KLHHF 2019 performance will open with the performances by newcomers Chico & TAC Gang, FK Blunt and 81 Agenda Records, and the event will have non-stop music by GOLDSOUNDS DJS, Kuala Lumpur.

According to Managing Director Bsync Live, Adam Sofian Mazlan, KLHHF 2019 is a project that will be hosted annually, another event for the local Hip Hop community supporters. KLHHF 2019 targets youth aged 15 to 20 years old and families with children between the ages of 7 and 15. Azri Yunus, the Lead Composer behind EJEN ALI THE MOVIE revealed that the idea and inspiration behind the song came from the movie’s director, Usamah Zaid Yasin, whom wanted to portray the viewers an iconic moment that all Malaysians can relate to, which is the Malaysians culture of hanging out at mamak. “We thought about people culture when making order at ‘mamak’, then we incorporated them into the song lyrics in Malay, before getting the help of our two colleagues to translate sections of the lyrics into Tamil.” Hakim Kamal, the assistant composer cum main vocals performer of the song, added, “It was quite hard to get the pronunciation of the Tamil lyrics right, but after a month of practicing, our native speaker friends said my pronunciation was better than theirs!”

Paradigm Mall Petaling Jaya sets new record in Malaysia Book of Records with the ‘Most Number We Bare Bears on a Christmas Tree’

Paradigm Mall Petaling Jaya (Paradigm Mall PJ) is all set to bring the warm, fuzzy holiday vibes with a record-setting feat. Head over to the mall to witness a Christmas celebration inspired by Cartoon Network’s We Bare Bears and catch the ‘Most Number of We Bare Bears on a Christmas Tree’ – the first of its kind in the Malaysia Book of Records.

The gigantic Christmas tree measuring 8.3 metres in height and 4.5 metres in width is made up of 1,202 miniature versions of We Bare Bears plushies, namely Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear, another colourful Christmas ornaments and decorations complete the visual extravaganza situated at the Upper Ground Floor (UG) of Paradigm Mall PJ. Visitors to the mall will be able to check this tree out for themselves from 29 November onwards.

3,500 'Ejens' Turn IOI City Mall Into a Sea of Red for Ejen Ali's Misi: Ejen Rush!

 3,500 Ejen Ali fans came together on Sunday at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya all decked in the red Ejen Ali running gear for Misi: Ejen Rush. The highly-anticipated first edition of the 5km fun run with obstacle challenge event was designed in a MATA academy concept that was hosted yesterday (1 December 2019) by Primeworks Studios and WAU Animation, and also saw the participation of the two Chief Executive Officers, Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar and Usamah Zaid Yasin.

Early Sunday morning, participating Ejens flooded The West Garden, IOI City Mall Putrajaya for a warm-up Zumba session. The fun run then flagged off sharp at 7.30am with special appearance by the mascots Ejen Ali, Ejen Alicia and supported by Alif & Sofia, the latest animation title acquisition by Primeworks Studios with Blindspot Studios. Participants or Ejens consisted of parents, children, teenagers and as well as parents with baby strollers were seen geared up crossing through the obstacle challenges of Ejen Ali MIsi : Ejen Rush. Halfway through the course, Ejens then faced an obstacle course based on Ejen Ali’s four pillars of MATA; Kombat, Tekno, Inviso and Neuro. All participants then secured Finisher medals at the finish line upon them completing the run.

The first runner to complete the course was 14 year-old Ahmad Nazmi bin Mohd Hakimi, who completed the 5km route in under 25 minutes. “I had a really good time running the route of this event as it was very challenging, especially the obstacles area. My family and I all woke up as early as 5.00am feeling very pumped and looking forward to an awesome experience,” he commented.

Aside from the run, many other activities formed the highlight of the event, including a special performance by local heartthrob Ismail Izzani, showcasing two of his most popular songs, ‘Luar Biasa’ and ‘Sabar’.

Also present to support the event were local celebrities such as Lisdawati in which she mentioned, “This kind of event is created with a good cause not just in promoting the new Ejen Ali The Movie animation, but also it is a good opportunity for families to spend quality time with their loved ones”.

Dazrin Kamarudin, an actor added “I personally brought along ten family members of mine to support this event and all of us hope this event will continue and become a yearly activity that can be enjoyed by all the fans of this animation, congratulations!”.

“Nothing beats a good time exercising with your loved ones. It is one way to lead a healthy lifestyle, and me and my family will definitely join every year in hope it will become an annual event.'' said Azharina Azhar, a Malaysian top singer who also brought 12 of her family members including her grandmother who flew all the way from Sabah.

Ayu Damit, a singer and winner of reality tv show ‘One In A Million’ also added, “This was the first time ever I entered a fun-run event with my children and the fun escalated even more when they announced my children’s bib number got lucky to win prizes! Congratulations to Primeworks Studios for hosting this family oriented event!”.

Other celebrities spotted in supporting Ejen Ali: Misi Ejen Rush were Haiza, Hafiz Hatim and RD of Fly FM, Deen, Haziq and Rara of Hot FM, as well as Muaz from Kool FM. There were also prizes galore as Ejen Ali treated fans to awesome giveaways including tickets to catch Ejen Ali

The Movie in cinemas and lucky draw prizes of official Ejen Ali merchandise and a Grand Prize of a 40-inch Smart TV.

Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (MYDIN) bersama Primeworks Studios Sdn Bhd (Primeworks Studios) dan WAU Animation buat pertama kalinya berganding bahu memeriahkan persiapan kembali ke sekolah dengan melancarkan kempen ‘Ejen Ali Misi Kembali ke Sekolah Di MYDIN’. Kempen yang akan berlangsung selama dua bulan ini akan bermula pada 1 Disember 2019 dan berakhir pada 31 Januari 2020.
