HONOR X9 5G Review

HONOR has worked hard since becoming an independent company, and it is rapidly progressing. When it comes to smartphones, today's users have a plethora of options available in all price ranges. Not everyone wants or can afford a flagship smartphone. There is undoubtedly a large market for genuinely affordable smartphones. Let's see what it has to offer.

The HONOR X9 5G is HONOR's latest low-cost smartphone. It comes with Google services, and it's not a bad deal for the price, which is very low. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor powers the X9, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The HONOR X9 is available in three colors: Titanium Silver, Midnight Black, and Ocean Blue.

The phone is designed around a large 6.81" screen with minimal bezels on all sides and weighs 189 grams, which is relatively light. It is only 8mm thick, making it easier to handle, and all buttons are conveniently located on the right side.

The HONOR X9 5G is a beautiful smartphone. It appears modern, as one would expect from a smartphone released in 2022. Its bezels are pretty thin, though the bottom is slightly thicker than the rest, which is standard for devices nowadays.

It has a flat display and a central display camera hole. Its circular camera island on the back adds a bit of flair to this design. It also protrudes slightly.

Overall, the display is satisfactory. Regular users will find little to complain about here, as it serves the purpose and does it well. It's also lovely to see HONOR crammed a 120Hz panel into a low-cost device (240Hz touch sampling rate). The display is also more than large enough for most people.

You can adjust the color temperature to relax your eyes. It also has some eye-protection features, such as Dark Mode, eBook mode, and Eye Comfort. It's even TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certified so that you can use it without having any concerns. It's an excellent device for gaming and watching movies.

It was a pleasure to use this device. Even with heavy multitasking and pushing the phone with some games, the performance was excellent. We were able to play Call of Duty Mobile without issue and Asphalt 9 and other games. When it comes to performance, we have no complaints, especially given the phone's low price. It never got hot, but it did get quite warm after a long COD gaming session.

There is no lag when launching or switching between apps. It can easily handle modern games like Asphalt 9 and Genshin Impact in medium graphics settings. The HONOR X9 5G supports Google Mobile Services, and you can download apps from the Google Play Store.

The battery life on the HONOR X9 5G is, in our opinion, ideal. This smartphone has a large display with a fast refresh rate, but it also has a good-sized battery. A 4,800mAh battery pack and 66W wired charging are included. HONOR claims that this charging can get you to 81% in about 30 minutes, but that wasn't the case for us. We were able to get around 70% of the change in 30 minutes, which is still fantastic.

However, you will most likely not need to charge this phone during the day. Even with heavy use, it lasted until the end of the day. We pushed it hard one day, watching tons of movies and series, and ended up with around 10% at the end of the day. You won't have to worry about battery life if gaming isn't involved.

The HONOR X9 5G has three rear cameras and one front-facing camera. A 48-megapixel primary camera is supported by a 2-megapixel macro and a 2-megapixel depth camera. On the front is a single 16-megapixel camera.

Despite not having the best camera specs, the phone can take pretty decent photos with a reasonable amount of detail, brightness, and vivid colors for a device in its price range. The X9 supports 1080p video recording and has a Dual Video Recording feature that lets you shoot videos with both the front and rear cameras simultaneously.

In conclusion, if you intend to use it for multimedia consumption and gaming, the HONOR X9 5G could be a good choice. It's comfortable in hand, and the overall design isn't bad. You also get a lot of battery life and more than fast enough charging. Get yours now at https://www.hihonor.com/my/phones/honor-x9-5g/
