AirAsia launches new route to Singapore from Sibu, starting fares as low as RM99 all-in
Third new direct route to Singapore from Sarawak this year Largest connectivity to Singapore from the state First flights ever on this route to commence on 16 December with promo fares from just RM99 AirAsia recently announced the launch of its newest international route from Sibu, Sarawak’s quaint town to the ‘Lion City’ Singapore. The inaugural flight is set to take off on 16 December 2022, with an initial frequency of 4 times weekly. Earlier this year, AirAsia launched two back-to-back direct routes connecting Sarawak to Singapore amid popular demand. Both its inaugural Kuching to Singapore and Miri to Singapore flights took off on 29 April 2022. This new route from Sibu marks the airline’s third direct international route from the state, making AirAsia the carrier with the widest network and largest connectivity in Sarawak. University of Cyberjaya (UoC) recently excelled with 3 awards at the International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA 2022 Exhibition) and Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) SDG 2022. 2 research teams from the university’s Centre for Research and Graduate Studies submitted their inventions – the Oral Fast Dissolving Film and Fast Melt Cocoa Butter Tablet – for both exhibitions. AirAsia to induct 250 Second Officers from cadet pilots program by the end of 2023
Cadet pilots will be inducted as Second Officers to support manpower requirements ahead of increasing travel demand and aircraft expansion plan Cabin crew being recruited also as flights resume Tony Fernandes with AirAsia cadet pilots who have recently completed their training in the first batch and reported for duty on 1 November 2022. AirAsia is resuming the induction of Second Officers who graduated from its cadet pilot program this month after a two and a half year hiatus, to support manpower requirements for next year. The Second Officers will undergo a ground training and type rating course for six months before being checked out as First Officers. A total of 14 Second Officers who completed their basic flying training in early 2020 reported for duty on 1 November this year. There will be four batches of cadet pilots to be inducted this year and AirAsia sets to hire more than 180 new Second Officers in 2023.
