Touch ‘n Go eWallet Adds CI Insure and MotoInsure to its Latest Insurance Offerings

A total of 6 insurance products are now available for easy purchase through the eWallet app

Touch ‘n Go Group, via TNG Digital Sdn Bhd (“TNG Digital”), owner and operator of Touch ‘n Go eWallet, has launched 2 new insurance products, CI Insure and MotoInsure on the eWallet.

CI Insure is a health insurance, provided by AIA, which covers the top 5 critical illnesses in Malaysia, i.e. cancer, heart attack, stroke, kidney failure, and serious coronary artery disease. Users can get themselves an insurance plan at an affordable price of RM10* per month, with the sum insured ranging from RM30,000, RM50,000, and RM100,000.

The plan offers a Lifestyle Assistance Allowance benefit which provides cash allowance up to RM5,000 per month for up to 3 months, on home nursing care, hospice care, palliative care, and home cleaning expenses to support day-to-day living upon diagnosis of the critical illness covered under the plan. In addition, users can obtain professional medical opinions and treatment recommendations from leading healthcare specialists through the Personal Medical Case Management Service provided by Teladoc Health, Inc., a global virtual care leader with over 20 years in telehealth services.

All Touch ‘n Go eWallet users between the ages of 18 to 60 years old are encouraged to purchase this insurance if they are looking for critical illness coverage at an affordable monthly premium. A user just needs to answer 3 simple health questionnaires and no medical check-up is required. The application process takes just 3 minutes, and the insurance policy is issued instantly.

Meanwhile, MotoInsure is a simple and customisable motorcycle insurance product that allows users to receive and compare multiple quotes from reputable insurance partners such as Takaful Ikhlas and Takaful Malaysia, with more to come. Touch ‘n Go eWallet users can customise their plans with coverage types (comprehensive and third-party) and other add-on benefits to meet their specific needs. In addition, MotoInsure offers the option of renewing road tax in conjunction with their insurance. The entire application procedure can be completed in three minutes or less, saving users valuable time. Users can expect to receive their insurance e-policy within 24 hours and their road tax within 3-5 working days.

Commenting on the insurance offerings, Alan Ni, Chief Executive Officer of TNG Digital Sdn Bhd said, “Having insurance is key, because it will ensure financial security for you and your family should anything unfortunate happen. With the affordable and customisable insurance offerings available so conveniently for purchase via the Touch ‘n Go eWallet, our users will be able to make their insurance purchases and get protected in minutes, so that they will have peace of mind to focus on the other important things in their lives.”

With the addition of these 2 new insurance offerings, Touch ‘n Go eWallet has now established a full suite digital insurance hub, where eWallet users can purchase 6 insurance products easily and conveniently through the eWallet app. The other 4 existing insurance offerings are CarInsure, SafeTrip, SafeHome, and WalletSafe.

Ni added, “Our vision is for Touch ‘n Go eWallet to be recognised as a one-stop insurance hub where our users can purchase insurance for various purposes. We are indeed proud to have various insurance providers as partners and to make this vision a reality today. We already have more than 2 million policies issued since we launched our first insurance product in July 2021.

“We will continue to work closely with the various insurance providers to develop more differentiated products to benefit more users; especially since close to 50% of Malaysians are still under-insured and the insurance penetration among the B40 segment is only 30%.”
