Current statistics of COVID-19 in Malaysia [1 March 2020]

The United States reported the first death case for COVID19. The US government has banned Iranian visitors and advised their citizens to refrain from visiting South Korea and Italy.  Due to the additional four (4) cases occurring in Malaysia, the total number of cases was 29. 22 out of which were recovered and 7 were still being treated in the ward.

Current statistics of COVID-19 [29 February 2020]

Japan records another case of COVID19 death with a total mortality of 5.  Due to escalating cases in South Korea, Iran, Italy, Japan including China, the MOH warned people to postpone travel to these countries if possible.

Key Highlights Strong local sales growth has compensated the subdued demand in some export markets. Current statistics of COVID-19 [28 February 2020]

Two (2) new cases of COVID19 were recorded today, February 28, 2020 making the 25th case overall. The case involved a Japanese citizen working in Malaysia and an Italian citizen marrying a local citizen and living in Malaysia. 22 out of 25 cases were fully recovered and allowed to return. Three more people are still receiving treatment at the ward.

Meeting of Conference of Rulers in Istana Negara tomorrow

Conference of Rulers is scheduled to hold a special meeting at Istana Negara after Friday prayers tomorrow. Citing the Astro Awani report, this was confirmed by an internal source from Istana Selangor. The essence of tomorrow's meeting will be on the current political situation in the country, including the possibility under consideration of the Malay rulers, especially the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, which include continuing the new government, as well as the dissolution of Dewan Rakyat.

Current statistics of COVID-19 [27 February 2020]

Worldwide current statistics of COVID-19 (updated at 8am, 27th Feb 2020). Seven (7) new countries were listed among the countries involved namely Pakistan, North Macedonia, Georgia, Romania, Brazil, Greece and Norway.  Brazil became first country from South America to record its first case of COVID-19 infection. A 61 year old male was reported went to Lombardy, Italy before he was confirmed with the infection.  Meanwhile, the World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Monday that the coronavirus epidemic has "peaked" in China. In other development, the total cases in Malaysia remain at 22, including 20 cured.

Nevertheless, I was later summoned to meet the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, and after a more than an hour-long discussion, the King consented to my resignation and later, decreed that I should become the interim prime minister. There are many reasons for my resignation but suffice to say, I felt that I had support from all sides to the extent that I was unable to choose a side. In addition, there were also accusations that I never meant to let go of the position and was power-hungry.
