Current Updates on COVID-19 in Malaysia [14 October 2020]
The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to inform that 233 cases have fully recovered and discharged today. Cumulatively, 11,605 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been discharged (66.2% of total cumulative cases). A total of 660 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today. Cumulatively there are 17,540 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 5,768 active and infective COVID-19 cases . They have all been isolated and given treatment. Of the 660 cases reported today, six (6) is an imported case who was infected overseas. Of the 654 local transmission cases, 608 cases are Malaysians and 46 cases are non-Malaysians. Currently, 108 confirmed COVID-19 cases are receiving treatment in the intensive care units (ICUs), with 35 patients on ventilation support . The Ministry of Health (MOH) would like to inform that 350 cases have fully recovered and discharged today. Cumulatively, 11,372 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been discharged (67.4% of total cumulative cases). A total of 660 additional confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported to the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) MOH today. Cumulatively there are 16,880 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Malaysia. Therefore, there are currently 5,345 active and infective COVID-19 cases . They have all been isolated and given treatment. Of the 660 cases reported today, two (2) is an imported case who was infected overseas. Of the 658 local transmission cases, 618 cases are Malaysians and 40 cases are non-Malaysians. Bank Islam Temporarily Shuts Lahad Datu Branch
Thorough sterilization and disinfection of the branch were conducted to protect the wellbeing of customers and employees Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad (“Bank Islam”) is temporarily closing its Lahad Datu Branch in Sabah, including its self-service terminals effective immediately until further notice. The branch closure is part of the precautionary steps taken after an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The staff is currently undergoing treatment at a government hospital. The employee and her immediate family underwent home quarantine since 28 September 2020 after a recent trip to Tawau. The step is taken in accordance with Bank Islam’s safety and health guidelines on COVID-19.
