Heads up if you’ve received a “Bank Islam” message in your inbox, it might not be from the real deal.
Bank Islam is sounding the alarm as fake Al-Awfar promos and phishing links flood social media, SMS and messaging apps like WhatsApp. The bank is urging all users especially younger, digital-first customers to double check before clicking.
How the Scam Works
Here’s how the fraud plays out:
- You receive a message claiming to be from Bank Islam or Al-Awfar
- The message asks you to click a link, download an app, or fill out a form
- The links are fake, and the goal is to steal your login details or banking info
The scams can look super real, so it's easy to fall for if you’re not careful. But here's how to keep yourself safe.
Protect Your Money: Quick Safety Tips
Before you click or share anything, Bank Islam says to follow these steps:
What’s Legit, What’s Not?
Bank Islam will never:
- Ask for your info via WhatsApp or random websites
- Send you app download links outside of official stores
- Conduct contests or giveaways that require third-party links
All official info, campaigns and app downloads are found only at Bank Islam Official website.
